An Ocean Was Here
$3,900.00Price
48 x 48" Original mixed media painting on stretched canvas by Jaelah Kuehmichel
2013
An Ocean Was Here is about how beneath all our concrete, roads and buildings there lies a history of wildness + wilderness. Under this parking lot lies the bottom of an ocean that used to be here. The silo silhouettes of buildings tower above as the pyramids of history or warning symbol float nearby. Control meets chaos. This painting was part of series of paintings called Puddle Paintings where the artist sought to find depth in minimalism, using limited color pallets, found paints, and an oil-based polyurethane to mix and make textures with.
